Susanna, a volunteer, experienced a breakthrough moment at East Palo Alto 7-Eleven Plaza. Here is her story...
This was a breakthrough moment for me. I had planned to attend 123 Let’s Go! first, then head to my friend’s anniversary party, so I was all dressed up for the occasion.
I encountered two unhoused individuals who appeared dirty. I hesitated to hold their hands, but God convicted me. In the end, I held their hands as we prayed the sinner’s prayer together, and I even gave them a hug. It reminded me of a story I read 20 years ago: What if the hand reaching out to me was the hand of Jesus, and I rejected it? That thought hit me hard.
Thank God for humbling me and reminding me of His heart for every person.
What a powerful reminder: “What if it was Jesus’s hand?” What if the next person you meet is God’s divine appointment, and it’s the moment to simply ask, “Would you like to accept Jesus?”
